Discoveries like this often suggest that an object was cherished and passed from one generation to the next, perhaps inherited from a beloved family member or received as a treasured gift from an older friend.  Minnie's calling card reminds us that this was once someone's treasured possession, long before it became an antique.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe teapot features a rounded spun hollowware body that tapers gracefully to a flared pedestal foot. Its elegant goose-neck spout is balanced by a generously proportioned hollow C-scroll handle, while the domed hinged lid is topped with a simple stepped button finial. Fine hand-soldered seams and the subtle irregularities expected of handmade work remain visible throughout, preserving the character of this early 19th-century vessel.
