Vintage 1920s Hotel Bellhop Figurine Plant Planter Plant Pot or Pencil Holder, Carnival Prize Antique Rare Exceptional Condition -- Test Object For Soft Launch

TEST OBJECT FOR SOFT LAUNCH: At over 100 years old and in delightful condition, this little vintage 20s hotel bellhop is certainly charming enough for any collector’s display.   The bellhop or hotel porter offers his bold basket to hold whatever you might wish, and he was likely designed for holding pencils or also could have also been used as a small planter. 

The figurine is typical of those prizes given away at boardwalk amusement parks such as Coney Island’s Nickel Empire, Atlantic City Boardwalk, or the Santa Monica Pier during the late 1920s.  Visitors to the boardwalks or county fairs tested their gaming skills by tossing balls into baskets or hooping the neck of a bottle with a wooden ring.  Figurines such as this were also sold as souvenirs and gifts at some general stores during this era.  Figurines such as this are rare and charming little finds in our vintage and antiques market today especially when found in this lovely condition.  

It is marked with “Made in Japan” styled stamp which dates it, as well as its design, back to the very early 1920s making it over 100 years old.

In brilliant enamel-like hand-glazing, the little figurine is in exquisite condition without damage, cracks, or crazing.  

It measures approximately 4” or slightly over 10 cm tall and also 4” or slightly over 10 cm long at the widest point.
